In my life I have been through many different phases with ups and downs during every phase with a feeling that I have reached a saturation point in terms of knowledge though it wasn’t the reality as universal states that LEARNING NEVER ENDS…
Remembering the first day at best cbse schools in Ghaziabad DPS, R. N. Extension, way back in 2018, a word of recognition of State of-the-art Infrastructure flashed across my face with a WOW.
Talking about the Learning at school, it is all about project based learning with a focus on solving all possible real-world issues by enabling the students to execute any given task with ease and confidence as it states…. CHANGE IS THE NATURE OF LIFE BUT CHALLENGE SHOULD BE THE AIM OF LIFE …SO, CHANGE THE CHALLENGES BUT ALWAYS CHALLENGE THE CHANGES…
Talking about the Curricula, the school is currently using is of course CBSE, though we are all aware of the change we will witness soon as NEP which will majorly focus on the practicality or practical exposure of the given tasks. As mentioned above students at DPS R.N. Extension, are already habitual of Learning by Doing… we, at R N Extension, are ready to accept the NEP without bringing any change into our pedagogy which is totally APPLICATIVE.
In short one can witness perfect blend of Integration of technology into the Teaching curriculum.
Moving on to the one of the best components in terms of what it offers to the teachers is the platform or opportunity to share what they have learnt in any conference or workshop as it relates to teaching. Regular workshops are conducted for social-emotional learning and more so how emotional intelligence benefits students. In addition to this, various activities and workshops were conducted for student engagement with the strategies for involving kids in their own learning.
Various activities happened in the school as a part of learning focusing on all round development of not only every student but also of every teacher. For example: We had kids film and did a voice-over for a short video and posted it on the school blog. Even teachers did indulge themselves in writing all about the topics which they thought parents would like to hear about, such as:
- Classroom management
- Experiential learning
- How to maintain a positive mindset in the classroom specifically while teaching
- How (and why it is important) to minimize gender and other biases.
- Game based learning and how is the school implementing gaming into classroom
- About Global Education and how are teachers helping kids become global citizens?
- Inquiry based learning and how teachers developing lesson plans based on current affairs and critical thinking?
- How social media platform is used for learning in school keeping technology advancement in mind?
I am immensely impressed by the way how 21st century citizens are being created using all possible tools required to frame even an average student into a global citizen.
For me this school is like “Walking in a shop of perfume whether you buy the perfume or not but you are bound to receive fragrance…”
And students here live with NEVER GIVE-UP attitude based on the saying that I myself wrote long back which says…
Giving up is the easiest thing in the world to do
But holding it together even when everything seems to be falling apart is
TRUE STRENGTH….
