Van Mahotsav Assembly

DPS, R.N.Extension celebrated ‘Van Mahotsav- a festival of trees’ on 12th July 2019 to develop green consciousness among students. The assembly began with the prayer followed by news headlines and interesting thought for the day. Children informed the gathering about the history of this festival and its relevance in the present time. Children recited wonderful poems in English & Hindi to spread awareness about the importance and the need for trees in our life, and what future will be like if no major steps are taken to save trees now. The focus of the assembly was towards forming a personal connection between the students and trees through a process of experience, reflection, and creation. The assembly helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Students learned the importance of planting trees and saving the environment. The assembly was addressed by the school Principal, Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya. It concluded with the National Anthem.
