Earth Day Celebrations

Earth Day was observed at DPS R.N. Extension on Monday, April 22, 2019 to create awareness and to involve the tiny-tots who are the future decision makers of our country in a campaign to save earth. A special assembly was conducted by the primary children who appealed to the audience to respect nature and reminded all present that we are the trustee not the owners of Earth. The assembly concluded with a tribute to Mother Earth by the children who sang melodious songs in her praise and danced to show their gratitude for the bounty she had bestowed us with. Next they joyfully took part in the plantation activity by planting saplings of trees and also went around watering the plants. Used plastic bottles were converted into hanging containers for ornamental plants. This way the students showed how these bottles, which have become a major polluting factor, can be put into good use. Such activities serve to foster a good attitude in the children towards their environment.
