Students of Primary wing comprising classes 3-5 were taken to Akshardham Temple, Delhi on 30 th January, 2019. Akshardham means divine abode of God .The students were able to experience the timeless Hindu spiritual messages, vibrant devotional traditions and ancient culture which echoed in its art and architecture. The temple is a humble tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781- 1830) and also the avatars, devas and great sages of Hinduism. The traditionally-styled complex was built with the devoted efforts of skilled artisans and volunteers. It is indeed a modern day architectural
marvel as the designs are traditional but had modern technological adaptations. The students watched two movies on the lives of the sages and were shown round the temple. The best part was the educational boat trip. The students were able to have a peek of the past – about our ancestors’ life-style, food, culture, attire, livelihood and commerce. Such trips help to inculcate a deep sense of belongingness and pride for the motherland in the hearts of the young impressionable students.
