Public School R.N. Extension celebrated A Day for Grandparents - a blend of love, laughter and caring deeds. The event aimed at conveying that the grandparents are like beacons always guiding and directing their children to the right path by radiating values of love, care and compassion. The school took the initiative to invite the grandparents for the same. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Mr. Yaduvansh Dayal, Former Director, Secratariat - Govt. of India, Mrs. Santosh Bansal, Pro Vice Chairperson DPS R.N.Extension and Mrs. Meeta Rai, Director DPS R.N. Extension The function started with lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries accompanied by the Principal and some grandparents. A floral welcome was accorded to all the guests present. This was followed by the welcome speech by the school Principal and Director. The school Principal, Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya said that the grandparents are the very backbone of our families and society. We should develop the culture of respecting the grandparents among the children right from the beginning.nThe cultural extravaganza unfolded with a delightful presentation by the Nursery babies. They mesmerized everyone with their endearing dance performance on the song ‘We are so happy’. Later the talented students of class Prep enthralled the audience with the melodious medley of soulful songs. This was followed by the Graduation Ceremony of Prep students. The Chief Guest, Mr. Yaduvansh Dayal conferred the proud students with gowns and certificates of appreciation. Then the young yogis of classes I and II captivated all by their energetic yoga presentation. The cultural display concluded with an enticing dance finale on the theme of ‘Love and Happiness.’ The Chief Guest in his address appreciated the initiative taken by the school to honour the grandparents. The vote of thanks was extended by Navankur Shrotriya and Riyaan Upadhyaya in which they expressed gratitude towards all the guests and the grandparents who spared their valuable time for the programme.
